Your Position: Home - Fertilizer - What is the Best Fertilizer for Your Lawn or Garden?
As a NPK Fertilizer Wholesaler, share with you. Plants need six major nutrients-carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The last three nutrients come from the soil.
How do you know what your soil needs? Understanding the growth medium of plants is the key to understanding which fertilizers are beneficial to them. You want to add what they lack, not what they don't need.
The first step in almost any gardening job should be soil testing. To obtain accurate and useful results, please consult with the staff of your county extension office. They will test the soil, interpret the results, and provide recommendations for action. Read more about soil testing to create a healthier garden.
Fertilizers that provide the above-mentioned NPK nutrients come in organic and synthetic forms. what's the difference?
Organic fertilizer comes from feces, blood meal, cottonseed meal, feather meal, crab meal, etc. The organic fertilizer works synergistically with soil microorganisms to decompose the fertilizer into plants for absorption. Because they do not add excessive salt and acid to the soil, organic fertilizers are good for promoting healthy soil biology that is rich in microbial activity.
Synthetic fertilizers are made in the laboratory and are derived from compounds such as ammonium nitrate, ammonium phosphate, superphosphate and potassium sulfate. They accelerate plant growth and contribute to the flowering rate of flowering plants. However, their high salt content can be harmful to the population of beneficial microorganisms and can also seep into water sources. Applying too much synthetic fertilizer can "burn" the leaves and damage your plants. Synthetic fertilizers are great for promoting growth, but they are not helpful for improving the long-term health, texture, or long-term fertility of the soil. Because synthetic fertilizers are highly water-soluble, they can also infiltrate streams and ponds.
Suggested reading:Generally speaking, organic fertilizers take time to enrich the soil, so it is best to fertilize in autumn so that nutrients can be obtained in spring. For spring, some fertilizers combine the best of both worlds with organic fertilizer blends, which also contain small amounts of synthetic fertilizers to ensure immediate access to nutrients.
You may also notice particles and soluble formulations.
Granular fertilizers are solid and must be placed in the soil and given a certain amount of time before they are dissolved and available for use by plants.
Slow-release fertilizers are a subset of granular formulations. Some fertilizers cannot be used immediately by plants. The nutrients will be measured within a few weeks. Therefore, their application frequency is low.
Sometimes called "liquid feed", soluble fertilizers are sold as ready-to-use solutions or packaged dry-grinding materials that need to be dissolved in water. These are often quick-release fertilizers with high nitrogen content, which can promote rapid green growth.
In order to maintain the long-term health and fertility of the soil, we recommend the use of granular organic fertilizers. Supplementing additional water-soluble fertilizers is a way to ensure that plants get the nutrients they need when they need to promote growth.
